This Privacy Policy explains how Homeateri ("we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and app.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email, phone number, and password.
• Cook information: business name, food business license or permit number and expiration date, license documents, menu content, photos, and video.
• Order information: items ordered, delivery or pickup address, order history, and messages exchanged with the other party to an order.
• Payment information: processed by our third-party payment processor — we do not store full card or bank account numbers on our own servers.
• Location information: ZIP code or city entered to search for nearby cooks.
• Device and usage information: IP address, browser or app version, and general usage analytics.

2. How We Use Information

• To operate the marketplace — matching Buyers with Cooks, processing orders and payouts, and enabling messaging between the two.
• To verify Cook licenses and send renewal reminders.
• To respond to support requests and investigate reported safety concerns.
• To maintain platform security and prevent fraud.
• To send service-related communications, and — with your consent where required — marketing communications.

3. How We Share Information

We share order details (such as name, order contents, and delivery/pickup details) between the Buyer and Cook involved in a specific order, since fulfilling the order requires it. We share information with service providers who help us operate the Platform — such as payment processors and hosting providers — under confidentiality obligations. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our community. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

4. Cook License Information

License numbers, expiration dates, and license documents are used to verify eligibility to sell and are stored separately from public-facing profile information. Only a verification badge — not the underlying license document — is shown publicly.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and order information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and food-safety recordkeeping obligations.

6. Your Choices

• You can access and update most account information from your profile settings.
• You can request deletion of your account by contacting support@homeateri.com, subject to records we're required to retain by law.
• You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for data in transit and access controls limiting who can view sensitive data such as license documents. No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

8. Children's Privacy

Homeateri is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated effective date.
